Meeting for second grade CCD
and Epiphany parents in the church. Parents, please be on time!
Sunday,
February 19 ~ We will start our letters to Father Leo explaining why each child wants to make
his/her First Communion. Letters need to be finished at home with parent’s help. Please
make sure the letters are edited for spelling and punctuation. Make sure your child uses good handwriting—you
may want to use lined paper or stationary. Place letter in an envelope with your child’s first and
last name and return to CCD by Sunday, March 11.

Sunday, March 11 ~ Letters to Father Leo are due

Sunday, April 1 ~ Palm Sunday—no CCD classes
Sunday, April 8 ~ Easter Sunday—no CCD classes
Sunday, April 29~ “Bread Sunday” – 8:30 Mass. First Communion children will
be introduced to the congregation and presented with a loaf of bread. We will do this after the meditation
song. Children sit with their families anywhere in the Church—try to sit downstairs if you can—your
child comes up to the altar when he hears his name. If you are sitting in the balcony, please have
your child come downstairs to the open doors to wait for his/her name.
Monday, April 30
~ Monday Evening 7 pm – This practice is intended for the students that are participating in the 9 am Mass.
Children and one or both parents are to attend this important practice.
Tuesday, May 01~ Tuesday Evening 7pm-- This practice is intended for the students that are participating in the 11:30am
Mass. Children and one or both parents are to attend this important practice.
Saturday, May 05~ First Holy Communion – 9 am Mass. Children need to be at the Church by 8:30 am. Please be prompt.
Saturday, May 05~ First Holy Communion –11:30 am Mass. Children need to be at the Church by 11:00 am. Please be prompt.

More Information
Group and individual pictures of our First
Communion classes will be taken on Saturday, May 05 after the First Communion Masses. These prepaid orders
need to be turned in by or on Tuesday, May 1.
Catalogs for First Communion items are in your folder—please
order from the company, we will not handle the money for group orders. Dress for First Communion is a white dress for the girls; a
head piece/and or veil is optional. Boys should wear dress pants (no jeans, shorts, or sneakers) and a
white shirt with tie. A jacket for the boys is optional.
There will be a reception in the parish
hall for the First Communicants and their families and guests after Mass. We usually serve cookies and
punch.
Attendance at CCD classes and practices
are important—Please make sure your child has good attendance.
